September Already

Yikes it's been far too long!

To be fair, I did have my little Internet window up to knock out a post when Hurricane Irene hit, leaving us with minimal damage but NO POWER FOR 2 DAYS. I know, I'm a wuss. But it was bad! I was panicking about not being able to blow dry my hair and had to go down to our friends house to 1. Save our frozen ribs and 2. Take one of the best warm showers of my life.

So anyway!

In August, we went here:

And it was great! Our Alaskan cruise was so relaxing and stress free, plus there were the most delicious Belgian waffles ever for breakfast every morning. Is it bad that the highlight of my vacation was waffles? With bananas, a drizzle of syrup, and whip cream? I need to recreate this.

We did a lot of shopping at their cute little touristy towns, saw a humpback whale breeching, walked all the way to the salmon run, ate fancy meals and dessert, and took long unnecessary naps in the middle of the day.

(Okay, so we did have a couple fights during vacation - a week on a boat with no internet will drive any married couple a little crazy! Gotta keep it real).

Then we had a great time visiting friends and family back in Michigan. Michigan summers are the best!

On the baby front, I've felt Junior (still don't know why we call him that - yes HIM!) kicking around more and more lately. It's great. Half the time it feels like gas, the other half it feels like he's trying to thump his way out of there. I can't wait until E gets a proper kick out of him. It's hard to believe I'm 22 weeks along as of today, although my waistline would beg to differ. I wonder when the inappropriate comments from strangers will start?
