Lazy Day

One last lazy day before the start of school for E, and work for me.

*sob

Even though I've been a busy worker bee all summer (minus the so-long-ago two-week hiatus from life in August), this upcoming week feels like the start of the true daily grind. Especially with traffic! I'm going to have to leave 15 minutes earlier now to get to work on time (45-50 minute commute). Plus I'm taking back my daily morning walks with the doggies. Le sigh.

At least we made this weekend a good one. We ate at Pizza Hut for lunch on Saturday (no buffet available sadly) and then I helped Jamie pick out a spiffy new watch on sale on Macy's. I love shopping! Then I even managed to head over to the outlets and Target that night. Yesterday we got the oil changed in my car and the battery replaced (because my car always needs more than an oil change) and then I finally got E to wander around Babies R Us with me. I think we've settled on a few things for Junior's new life with us, including:

A Baby Cache convertible crib. Recommended in my most awesome book, Baby Bargains.

A Baby Trend Snap and Go stroller frame. We manhandled the fancy all-in-one stroller+car seat (Chicco Cortina) for a while before deciding that it was just too big and bulky for my little car and puny arm strength. With this one, we can pop in the car seat until the baby is about 6 months old and then we can upgrade to a lighter umbrella stroller. Tada! (I'm dumb when it comes to strollers, so this is again Baby Bargains telling me how to live my life).

And finally, the best car seat on the market, according to those in the know. The Chicco Keyfit 30 (oooh, ahhh).

Anyone feeling like buying me a present?
